While Small Groups are the main way that care happens at Cornerstone, we want to do our best to care for our church family. We offer the following ministries to care for people:
Stephen Ministry provides one-to-one lay Christian care for those who are hurting. A Stephen Minister can be assigned to anyone who is going through a difficult time. Mara Marsman is the primary contact for this ministry.
We have a team of people who have been trained in Visitation Ministry. If you know of someone who is hospitalized or recovering at home and would appreciate a visit, please contact the church office. We also would be glad to come and pray with you prior to surgery.
Our Meal Care Team is ready and willing to provide some meals for those who have had a baby or are going through illness or recovery from surgery. Contact the church office if you or someone you know could use this kind of help.
Other ways we care for our congregation include a Cradle Cross given to new babies, Prayer Shawls given to those going through extended illness, Care Cards sent to individuals going through a rough time, and Journeying Through Grief booklets sent to those who have lost a parent, spouse or child.
While we encourage Small Groups to care for their own members, we really do want to know if you or a loved one are in need of care. If you are aware of someone in the congregation who could make use of one of the ministries listed, please let the church office know. Don't assume that someone else has already told us. Usually they haven't, and we don't want to let people slip through the cracks. Let us know of anyone in need of care. We can't care if we don't know about the situation.
