/files/New Bldg and Footsteps/conrnerstone_4c_logo web.jpgOn April 15, 2007 we officially kicked off the Chapter 3:  Footsteps of Faith campaign.

The story of Cornerstone Church began in 1990 with Chapter 1:  Building a Community with Love at South Christian High School.  Back then 50 families invested $1.5 Million for those of us who have come to know Cornerstone as our church home.  We've lived in Chapter 2: Extraordinary God the last nine years.  During this time, our attendance has grown 500%!  We've added onto the original building twice and watched ministry flourish.  Now it's our turn to continue the story with Chapter 3:  Footsteps of Faith.

This next chapter moves us forward and will provide a central hub of ministry, in turn giving us the tool to continue our mission of "inviting all people to become followers of Jesus Christ!"  Teams of people are working hard to pray, plan and communicate all that is happening with regard to Chapter 3:  Footsteps of Faith.  It's going to take all of us to make this miracle happen!

On Sunday, May 20, 2007, Cornerstone Church met for an All Church Worship Event at East Kentwood High School, in the Fine Arts Auditorium.    It was a time to celebrate together all that God is doing! The first schematic drawings were presented and they can be found HERE.

People made pledges by turning in their three year commitment cards. Here are some questions we've recently received and the answers to the questions.

1) Should I adjust my current giving so that I can contribute to Footsteps of Faith?  No, any commitment to Footsteps of Faith should be "above and beyond" what you're already giving. There is still ministry, missions, and our current building that need to continue to be funded.

 2) Will we now have two building funds? Yes. The original building fund continues to pay down our current mortgage on the building we are in now. We will have this fund until we sell the present site and pay off the balance.

3) Should I indicate my yearly pledge on the Footsteps of Faith commitment card?  No, the Footsteps of Faith commitment card should only indicate the amount you will be contributing over the next three years, specifically for the new  building.

4) How do I turn in my Footsteps of Faith commitment card?  Please bring your card to the All Church Worship Event, 10AM at East Kentwood High School.  We will be turning in our commitments at the end of that service.  If you're not able to attend, please mail or turn in your card to the church office.

5) How much should I give? Your decision is between you and God. Trust Him to direct you in this process. Pray!
