Ongoing Volunteer Needs

Be part of God's Story by serving in one of these ministry areas.

Some volunteer opportunities are weekly.  Some are monthly.  Others are on-going or as needed. Click on the area of interest and volunteer!

Guest Services Sign Up

• Guest Services Desk - Staff the desk with an inviting smile and helpful attitude.  Provide information and assistance to anyone with questions about Cornerstone, which my include handing out gifts to our guests. Need to be familiar with church website and various programs/activities. Sat. or Sun. once a month.
• Greeter - Welcome people as they enter the building with a smile and friendly greeting as well as provide additional assistance as needed. (Assist handicapped and elderly, provide wheelchair assistance, offer an extra hand to parents with babies, and whatever else is necessary to make a good first impression).
  
  
• Hallway Host - Provide a presence in the building that is welcoming and friendly.  Make yourself visible and available to first-time visitors, giving them assistance by answering their questions, finding classrooms, restrooms, etc. Volunteer Sat. or Sun. once a month.
  
  
• Coffee - Prepare and serve coffee and tea before and after services.  Includes re-stocking and clean-up.  Volunteer Sat. or Sun. once a month. 
  
  
• Usher - Provide assistance by making yourself visible and available to help people find a seat, distrubute bulletin and handouts, take the offering, facilitate with communion and help maintain an overall safe environment. Volunteer Sat. or Sun. once a month.
• Ice Cream Scooper - serve Sundaes at weekly service (Sat or Mon depending on time of year).

Worship & Tech Team Sign Up

• Camera Tech: Help run video cameras during rehearsals/services/special events. Training provided.
   
• Video Director: Download/edit video for use during rehearsals/services/special events, direct video and slides during rehearsals/services/special events.
   
• Lighting Tech: Design lighting and operate light board for rehearsals/services/special events.
   
• Sound Tech: Mix and run sound board for rehearsals/services/special events.

• Computer/Slide Operator - Create worship slides (Bible verses and other on-screen visuals).  Types font onto series slide template. Operate computer during service to change slides during service including song lyrics slides.  Once a month commitment.

• Stage Set Up and Stage Design - Help set up the stage and/or help plan stage design for various worship needs.  Various days/times with this opportunity.

Safety Sign Up

• Security Team - Provide a safe, peaceful worship atmosphere at worship services by providing security for the children and congregations, assistance to the Police when needed, security for the collection and movement of the offering and provide initial medical care when needed. Training provided. Serve one Saturday or Sunday per month.
  
  
• Parking Team - As vehicles arrive for services help keep traffic flowering by directing drivers to parking spots. Training is available. Serve one Sunday per month.
  
  
• Medical Team – Provide support to the security team and medical assistance to the children and congregation during worship services when required. Team members pick up a pager from the security team when available for service. You will be paged if needed. Serve on Saturday or Sunday, just sign in whenever you are available.

Life Group/Equipping Sign Up

• Life Group Office Assistance - Volunteer 1-2 times a week for:  making follow-up calls, computer data entry, filing, making copies, event preparation.
  
  
• Resource Center - The Resource Center is a support ministry that encourages spiritual growth by providing Bibles, study materials and accessories, primarily for Life Groups.  If you enjoy helping others, consider joining our team!
  
  
• Event Planning - If you are a person who enjoys working on a team and is creative, organized and dependable and likes to have fun, this volunteer opportunity is for you!  This team supports all Connection Events.  Volunteer on a per-event basis.

Kids Sign Up

• Kids Welcome Desk (Sat/Sun/Wed): Welcome and register new families, print attendance (computer knowledge helpful, training available); required to be there during service.
  
  
• CornerKids Guest Services (Sat/Sun): Help greet and direct new families, assist with classroom needs
  during service, help with attendance, required before and during service.
  
  
• Worship Leaders (Sat/Sun): Person or persons to lead either preschool or elementary kids in worship.  Teach songs and simple movements and encourage kids to participate in the worship experience.
  
  
• Storytellers (Sat/Sun): Someone with high energy to tell a Bible story in a fun way to kids (scripts are available).
  
  
• Project volunteers: Someone who can take home projects and prepare them for Sat/Sun classes.  May involve cutting, sorting, or creating examples.  Must be able to pick up and return projects in a timely manner (usually 1 week).
  
  
• Special Needs Ministry Volunteer: Conduct curriculum provided weekly.  Effectively engage kids and celebrate each kid’s uniqueness.
  
  
• Childcare Volunteers for Pizza with a Pastor, Starting Point & Membership: Provide childcare for kids whose parents will be attending Pizza with a Pastor, Starting Point & Membership.
  
  
• Coaches for fall CornerKids Musical: Coaches for fall CornerKids Musical:  Music, Drama, Dance, Props & Set Design.  Rehearsals will take place on Wednesday evenings (6:30-8)  September 14 – November 30.
  
  
• Cooks Needed (Sun): Cook breakfast once or twice a month for the CornerKids Breakfast Club.
  
  
• Classroom Distribution/Organize Volunteers: Go through the CornerKids rooms once a month to clean out cupboards and restock classroom supplies.
  
  
• Infant-5^th grade Small Group Leaders (Sat/Sun): Lead a small group of kids, develop a relationship with them, and help them grow in their relationship with Christ.  Preferably every week or twice per month.
